IW3F Paraffin Wax is a Fischer-Tropsch wax from Sasol, supplied in clean, solid white pastilles for easy melting and measuring. With a congealing point of 60°C to 65°C and a melting point of 64°C, this hard wax is highly versatile—suitable for a range of industrial and creative applications, including candle-making, polishes, firelighters, and household goods.

This wax produces a firm, glossy finish when poured at the right temperature and can be customised with colour and fragrance, making it useful in both functional products and decorative work. While not as soft as traditional candle waxes, IW3F offers strength, durability, and a clean appearance for finished items.

Why Choose IW3F Paraffin Wax?

– Offers a clean, high-shine finish when poured at correct temperature
– Durable and hard-setting—ideal for polishes, firelighters, and firm candle types
– Blends easily with other waxes for tailored performance
– Accepts colour and fragrance (test before large-scale use)
– Suitable for both creative and industrial production environments
– Easy to store and handle thanks to its compact pastille form

Basic Usage Guide

– Melt wax gradually in a double boiler or similar controlled setup to approximately 64°C. Avoid direct heat.
– Once fully melted, add colourants first. If using black, only use pigment—not black dye.
– Add fragrance oil between 70°C and 75°C. Stir gently but thoroughly for even distribution.
– Pour between 80°C and 85°C for a smooth, high-gloss finish. Avoid sudden cooling or draughts that may affect the surface.
– Allow to cure for 12 to 24 hours depending on product type and room conditions.
– For candles, allow additional time before conducting a burn test.

Important Note on Testing

IW3F paraffin wax is a high-performance product, but results may vary based on fragrance oil, pigment, wick, container type, and climate. Always perform small-batch testing before scaling up, especially if selling or gifting your products. Testing helps confirm compatibility, appearance, burn quality, and long-term performance.

Whether you're crafting bespoke products or manufacturing in volume, IW3F provides a reliable, high-quality base that supports consistency, durability, and a refined finish.
